Horseshoe Bend in Arizona is located in the small town of Page. Horseshoe Bend is starting to become an iconic image for Arizona and the Grand Canyon area. Formed by the Colorado River, this horseshoe formation is accessible by a dirt trail about 1.5 miles (round trip) and ends in a high view point. The site is stunning yes, but be exercise extreme caution because there are no guard rails. Be sure not to get too lost in the moment close to the edge! Although there are plenty of other visitors in the area at any given time, the edge is wide enough that you will be sure to find a spot to take some solo pictures.
I’ve been wanting to visit Horseshoe Bend for quite some time and I’m so happy to finally say that I have! I viewed Horseshoe Bend in the middle of the afternoon but I wouldn’t mind making the 4 hour drive from Las Vegas again and again. Absolutely a nature lover and photographer’s dream. Be sure to take the time to sit and enjoy the view.
